Hello you- negative friend- drainer- energy zapping person who just can’t seem to find anything good in the world, and how your world is falling down before your very eyes….but it’s not your fault.

We all know them, those people who suck the life out of you every time you see them, it’s like a dark cloud coming towards you and you want to run for your life.

We all have bad days, where we feel bad and we’re a little down on ourselves. We have at one point or another been in a hole and wondered if we will get out. At what point is it normal everyday life? At what point should you seek help? Is there a point in between where it’s not medical, not a mental illness and it’s not just a bad day.

The Depression checklist

If you have been feeling bad, negative, stressed and generally sad or anxious for longer then 2 weeks you need to seek medical help by a professional.

The Bipolar checklist

When you’re up you’re up and when you’re down you’re down, there is not a lot of in between. Extreme highs and lows.

The Bad day-

We are creatures of habit, we are conditioned in everything we do, generally as a result of our past. Every thought, every object, every sound, everything we have a feeling around. A memory locked away in our minds that remind us of some thing, some one, some time.

Sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes in different.

Certain feelings we associate with certain times in our lives, that’s why people get mad, angry and frustrated at different things. Because we have different memories. The trick is to realise WHY you are feeling this way, what memory do have of that feeling. What happened in your past that made you feel a certain way? Every time you get mad, angry and frustrated write it down. Make note of that feeling of why do you feel that way, not who but the underlining feeling. Example ‘It made me feel……..’

After a month take a look at your notes and see if there is a repetitive feeling you’re having and try and associate it with something in your past that made you feel that way.

Know your patterns

We often don’t realise we are spiralling out of control until we hit rock bottom. What are some of your patterns you do when this begins? Do you get reclusive, snappy, drink more, eat more, crave something….what is it you do when you start to spiral? Think about it and write down then you can aim to realise and catch yourself before you hit the bottom. So you’re out for a short time instead of a long time.

BE AWARE

Be aware of your actions, your thoughts. Most people don’t even realise how negative they really emit until someone makes you aware of it…..chances are most people want tell you, but they will just distance themselves or put up with it because they don’t want to hurt your feeling.

Things to watch

  • When everyone around you is positive do you say or think something negative?
  • You maybe humorous in a negative way
  • You know everything but you aren’t accomplishing your goals?
  • You take action but not positive action
  • You want what other people have and are never happy with your own path

Your thoughts create what happens around you, so I can not stress to you enough the importance of being aware of your thoughts. If you really want to change your life, make things happen and be a happier version of yourself you need to think different.

Not only know but believe, be and live by

  1. Positive action = Positive results
  2. Everything is possible
  3. There is enough success for everybody
  4. Surrender to what is and trust
  5. Be grateful
  6. Be present
  7. Be mindful
  8. Give to yourself and to others around you
  9. Create personal mind goals for yourself to change your mindset
  10. Connect with everyone and everything you touch
  11. Celebrate life everyday
