Tips for Bright and Youthful Eyes

 

The eye area is one of the first places on the face to show signs of aging. The skin in this area is more delicate and does not have the oil glands that are found elsewhere on the face. As a result, the eye area dries and wrinkles faster than other areas of the face. It also means that the eye area and also cannot cope with rich or oil based creams. You should only use creams specifically designed for the eye area.

 

As you know…wrinkles aren’t the only source of woe in areas around the eyes. Puffy eyes and dark circles also plague many. Often, Puffy eyes and dark circles are caused by medication, poor diet, lack of sleep, hereditary factors and using moisturizers or oil based eye make-up removers around the eyes.

 

Stay Healthy and Cleansed

 

The eyes are our window to the inner workings of the body, therefore a healthy, hydrated and cleansed body Es crucial. To achieve the best results:

  • Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
  • Make sure your diet is low in salt
  • Increase your water intake.

 

Avoid Toxins

 

Toxins such as cigarettes, alcohol, caffeine, preservatives, artificial sweeteners and artificial colouring collect in pools under the eye resulting in dark circles and puffiness. Yuck!

 

Cover those peeps

 

Harsh factors such as sun exposure to the delicate skin around the eye area cause premature aging and wrinkles. Wearing sunscreen, hats and sunglasses with 100% UVA/UVB protection will help.

 

Get your beauty sleep

 

Get plenty of sleep and use only products specifically designed for the eye area.
